Makeup Geek New Foiled Eyeshadows

Yay, I was waiting for these beauties and I must say the shipping was super fast I received an e-mail last Friday that they were shipped and they arrived today, normaly it needs like 2 weeks to get here!

And I was suprised that I didn't have to pay for customs even tho the price was $89,91. Maybe something changed with the custom policy that I wasn't aware of!!!

The sad part of the whole unwraping the eyeshadows was that my Flame Thrower e/s was damaged, I think that while they pressed the shadow in the pan it didn't stick too well, so while in transfer it chipped off a bit :(

I wrote a mail to Makeup Geek to see what they will do about it and as soon as I get an answer I will let you know!

I have 9 shadows out of 10, the one I was eying the most was sold out, the beautiful purple shade called Caitlyn Rose, which is a charity shade for the Reserch on Batten Disease!

But I do have the rest :)

As I stated on my Facebook page, I hate to do swatches, because I think it's a waste of product! I did do the swatches on these but, excuse my language, I suck at it LOL

They are more gorgeous then what you see in the pics, so you will just have to wait for the looks that I will create with them :D

So here they are:

Flame Thrower

Center Stage

Show Time

Houdini

Magic Act

Jester

Grandstand

Mesmerized

In the Spotlight

The pics were taken in natural light, the swatches without a primer or Fix+, being as careful as I can get, I pressed as little as possible on the pans and by that these eyeshadows are super pigmented!!! I cannot wait to do a makeup look with them, which one should I use first?

Please leave your thoughts about this review, do you have your own opinion about them!
If you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments.

Teeez Trendy Cosmetics - Glitter Lash & Liner

One of things that I like at the moment is a Glitter Lash & Liner from Teeez Trend Cosmetics, a Dutch brand! I love these liners, the glitters are so beautiful and it stays put when dry. The brush has a plastic stiff tip for your liner and mascara bristels to put some glitter over your lashes! There are I think 10 colors as I can recal and I have 5 of them, the green one is not in the pic, I couldn't find it at the moment ๐Ÿ˜

The packaging is very cute in full print, reminds me a bit of the Balm.

This is what the company sais about them:

"Offering a glitter mascara topcoat and an eyeliner, this innovative two-in-one, multi-functional product demands a double take. The unique applicator combines a mascara brush with a conical tip that creates a beautiful, precise line on the eyelids. Available in 10 colors, of which three are funky neons, the quick-drying formula applies a high concentration of micro glitter particles in one simple stroke, leaving an immediate sensual shimmer that lasts all day or all night long."

The ones in the pic are called (left to right):

- Museum Night

- Sweet Suite

- Take a Taxi

- Night Out

They cost about € 5,- each

You can find them at www.teeez.eu

If you have tried these out, l would love to hear your opinion about them!!!

The Balm "Mary-Lou Manizer"

(srpski ispod)

I was in search for a good highlighter that wasn't too glittery or chunky and I really wanted to find a cheaper version of  MAC Cosmetics or other brands! Here in Holland the prices of makeup in general is very overpriced even the drugstore ones!!!

Not to speak the lack of Sephora, yes you heard it right, Sephora left Holland like 2 or 3 years ago, so the only source for the other brands are indipendent internet shops!

Back to my highlighter search, all over you tube and internet there is a hype about The Balm's "Mary-Lou Manizer" and I tried to ignore it and l have searched the Dutch sites and I had found one that had it but l still wasn't sure I wanted to get it and then all of a sudden it was sold out and l was sad and mad at myself that l didn't get it right away because I couldn't get it anywhere else!

But luckily after a week or so it came back in stock so this time I had to have it and l am glad that I did.

Oh my it is so beautiful, l really understand the hype arround it, just a touch of it is enough, l am in love with it, it gives the perfect glow to the skin without any glitter or visible powdery finish! Truly a must have and I totaly recomend it and because a little goes a long way it is worth the money!!!

Please leave me your thoughts about this highlighter or this review here on the blog or on Facebook!!!

❤️❤️❤️

Neutral with Pazazz

Hey Loves,

Wanted to show you one of my latest go to makeup looks that I was actually wearing on Sunday.

I don’t have a pictorial for you, but it is an easy look to do, I will lay some guidelines for you.

I like this look because you can wear it every day but it adds some drama to it by using color on your lower lash line. If this is too bold for you, you can just use a colored kohl or eyeliner on your waterline.

For this look I used:

Urban Decay
Naked 2 palette
     -       Tease
-       Busted
-       Foxy

Kozmetika Aura
     -       Innocent

 MAC Cosmetics
     -       Deep Truth

Catrice
     -       Gel Liner in C01 Nautica (Limited Edition Cruise Couture line)

Etos (drugstore)
     -       Smokey Eyes Pencil 04

Note: You don’t have to use the same products as listed to create this look, you can use whatever you have on hand!!!

Let’s get started!!!

As always prime your eyes, most of the times I just use my concealer.

Take a fluffy blending brush and apply Tease in your crease working it upwards, this will be your transition shade.

Then apply Innocent with a shader brush all over your lid and your tear duct.

With a denser blending blush you will apply Busted in your outer crease blending it with circular motions on your outer part of the lid working it upwards and whatever is left on the brush drag it thru the rest of your crease.

Take Foxy with a fluffy blending brush and apply it on your brow bone to blend everything together so that there are no harsh lines above your crease.

Line your eyes with a Navy Blue colored eyeliner.

Take a Navy Blue colored kohl or pencil eyeliner and apply it on your waterline and your lower lash line.

Take a pencil brush and smudge it all over your lower lash line with Deep Truth. You can go as low as you want.

Take a clean blending brush and smoke out your lower lid (blend, blend, blend!!!!).

Put your mascara on and if you like a pair of false lashes.

You’re done!!!

Let me know what you think of this look, what you think of the guidelines!!!

How I Highlight & Contour

It’s time for some funny faces!!!

Hey Loves, today I will show you how I Highlight and Contour. It is not much different from what you have seen already but maybe I can show you some more tricks.

Picture found on internet
Why do we Highlight and Contour?

Well Highlighting and Contouring is a cheaper and painless form of temporary plastic surgery.

You are visually shaping your face to your liking using light and dark to create the illusion of something that isn’t there.

You are using light to show your features and dark to hide them or give the light an extra boost with a shadow effect.
Picture found on internet
Highlighting and Contouring is often used for special occasions like party, wedding, photo-shoot, etc. where you want to look extra perfect, it is not something that you would prefer to do every day.

What do you need?

There are two methods of Highlighting and Contouring, Powder and Cream.

Powder is often preferred by people with oily skin and cream for dry skin.

There is also difference if you prefer a dewy finish using cream and matt finish using powder.

Powder

Highlighting: you will need a creamy concealer (not the one you use for hiding pimples or scars that often comes in little jars), that is 1 or 2 times lighter than your skin shade, you can use these for example: MAC Pro Long Wear Concealer, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, L’ Orรฉal True Match Concealer, etc.

You will need translucent powder to set your concealer so that it won’t cake up or move all over your face.

Contouring: Bronzer or dark powder foundation, prefer not to use bronzers with any kind of shimmer in it, or use it very lightly only on your cheek area.

Cream

Highlighting: the same as above.

Contouring: Dark Foundation in stick or liquid form, for example: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick, NYX Tango with Bronzing Stix, MAC Skin Sheen Bronzer Stick, or any kind dark concealer.

You can set this all with powder bronzer and translucent powder if you want a matt finish or skip it if you want a more fresh and dewy look.

Which brushes do you need?

You can use various brushes depending on which area of the face you are working on, for example you can’t use the same large brush that you use for large areas like your cheeks to use on small areas like your nose.

A beauty blender (in case of cream or liquid products) sponge is the easiest to use because you only need one tool, the sponge has a  rounder bigger side to cover bigger areas and a pointier one for more delicate precision areas like your nose and under your eyes.

Everybody has their own preference of brushes, a flat top brush, a tapered brush, an angled brush! You really need to find out what works for you the best by trying out different methods. I use my F80 Flat Kabuki Brush from Sigma and for the precision I use the P86 Precision Tapered from Sigma.

Drawing some lines!!!

This is a preference with where do you want to start first, if you want to start by highlighting first and blending it out and then your contouring, some do both at the same time or first contour and then highlight.

I personally prefer to blend out my highlights and then do the contouring and that is what I will be showing you.

Highlighting

Take your concealer that you will do your highlighting with and now you will draw some lines to parts that you want to bring forward, your upper cheek area, the bridge of your nose, your fore head, your chin, area above your jaw line.

Please don’t overdo it by using too much concealer especially if you have aging skin it will make you look much older, if you have aging skin use a very light weight concealer that doesn’t crease in the lines or don’t put the concealer directly under your eyes but slightly under on your cheek bone and then tap what is left of the concealer upwards towards the eye so that way you will prevent the concealer to cake up under your eyes (as shown in the pic). You are highlighting your upper cheeks to bring dimension to your cheeks, push them up and not look flat.

Then put random lines on the bridge of your nose and pull it to your fore head, you can also draw a line above the arch of your eyebrow so that is visually lifts it up (this is optional, if you have highlighted under your brow that would be enough). You want to put some concealer on top of your cupids bow (on top of your upper lip line) to visually lift or make your top lip appear fuller.

Put some concealer on your chin and slightly above your jaw line for some dimension.

Now blend everything in to your foundation by tapping motions so that you don’t want to move everything underneath.

Contour King Samer Khouzami, picture found on internet
Contouring

Now take your bronzer, in this case I am using a dark foundation stick and draw lines on places that you want to put shadow over and places that you want to hide.

You want to start by searching for the lines of your upper jaw line and the hollows of your cheek, just trace an invisible line from the top of your ear to the corner of your mouth that’s where you will place your bronzer. Draw a thin line starting from your ear towards your mouth BUT stop in the middle, later on with the blending you will move the bronzer slightly towards your mouth. If you have a wide set cheeks you would want to put some bronzer towards your temple’s too and make your face look more narrow (round shaped faces)

Picture found on internet

If you have a large forehead like I do (if you have a narrow fore head then skip this part), you want to visually make it look smaller so you will draw a few thin lines close to your hair line and on the sides towards your temple’s.

You can sharpen out your jaw line by tracing your bronzer along the edge, if you have a bit of a double chin then put some bronzer on it and it will visually reduce it.

Perfect brush shape for contouring. Picture found on internet

My chin is a bit longer so I want to correct that and by placing my bronzer a little deeper on to my chin it will visually shorten it.

Place a thin line on the edge of your lower lip line and that will make your lower lip look fuller.

Picture found on internet

Let’s do a nose job lol, trace a few short thin lines on the sides of your nose bridge (leave the top untouched where you have highlighted) and make your nose look thinner and under your nose to make it look shorter.

Please don’t overdo it by applying too much bronzer or it won’t look natural.

Blend the lines into your foundation and make sure that there are no visible lines and harsh edges.

Now that you have highlighted and contoured, you want everything to stay in place the whole day, so it is wise to set everything with powders especially your concealer. Use only light weight fine translucent powders.

Highlighting and Contouring according to face shape. Picture found on internet
You are done!!! Now you can finish with putting some blush, highlighter and putting your lipstick on if you already have done your eyes!

Pfff, I feel like I have written a book!!! I hope that I have covered everything!

If I have missed something that you want to know, please put it down in the comments bar and I will answer it as soon as I can.

Let me know what you think of this post, is it ok to follow? Love to hear your thoughts and comments!!!

Dusty Rose Makeup Look

Today’s tutorial/pictorial is going to be of my latest makeup look on my Facebook page, Dusty Rose.

An everyday look, maybe for some it is still a bit heavy so you can of course leave the darker eye shadows. I am comfortable to wear this look during the day, there is nothing wrong with a little drama even then lol

For this look I used:
Star Crushed Minerals
-          Wine
-          Sparkling Rose Glitter
-          Naked Lady
MAC Cosmetics
-          Nylon
Essence
-          Pure Love loose e/s

Let’s go to work ;)

As always I fill my brows with a black e/s;

I primed my lids with a concealer from Essence and shaped the lower part of the brow;

Take Naked Lady and apply it with a fluffy flat shader brush, apply it in your crease from your inner corner to your outer corner and move it slightly towards your brow bone.

Take Wine with the same brush and apply it also in the crease but only in your outer V area, blend it out to about the center of your lid. Apply a little shadow at a time, you can easily overdo it, take little by little till you get the effect that you want. If this look is too harsh for you during the day you can dip in the shadow only once just to ad dimension.

Put some sticky primer an apply it all over the lid till the crease and not over.

Take a stiff flat shadow brush and apply Pure Love loose e/s  all over your lid till the crease.

Blend it all together with a fluffy blending brush till you see no harsh lines and only smooth transition.

Take your favorite black eyeliner and line your eyes.

Put your mascara on, only on your top lashes and if you want you can put some false lashes.

Now you can finish the rest of your face.

When all of your powders are set under your eyes, you can finish your eye look.

Take a white pencil or a white primer and put it on your tear duct and all over your lower lash line.

Take Wine once more with a pencil brush and apply it under your waterline across your lower lid only in the outer 1/3, but stay close to your lash line (I see now that I miss this part in the pictorial, sorry).

Take Sparkling Rose glitter and apply it on the tear duct and the whole lower lash line and blend it with the Wine color.

Take a white eyeliner and place it on your waterline.

Put some mascara on your lower lashes.

Take Nylon and highlight your brow bone.

You’re done…

Please feel free to comment about this tutorial, hope it was easy to follow, if it wasn’t please say so.
